This is a club for anyone with an interest in art, no matter their past experience or skill set. Adam and his colleagues teaching style is welcoming and relaxed with a key focus on confidence-boosting.

Each term over a course of ten lessons, students will focus on one particular genre of art following detailed lesson plans leading up to a final project where all materials that will be required are supplied.

This October half term we will be focusing on the wonderful world of art through film for ages 7-11.

Filmmaking combines various art forms such as set design, costume design or scenic art to help tell a story.

Spread across 3 days the art club will explore these themes covering a variety of different artist techniques with paint, pencils and pastels leading up to a final project.

Day One

Modelling: Using clay and paint the students will discover how characters are made in stop motion animation.

Day Two

Techniques: The focus on this day will be exploring different paint brush techniques to create various movie scenes.

Day Three

Final Project: Using skills learned the students will create a final project based on their own concept.

Adam Ashton's portrait painting masterclasses are designed for complete beginners and intermediates alike. Through his workshop students will learn the fundamental basics needed to bring a portrait to life from initial methods of sketching to applying the final layers of paint.

As there is no right or wrong way in art everyone is always encouraged to experiment with different techniques and find their own artistic touch and what works for them while Adam is always on hand to help and demonstrate.
